A Day at Shore Acres State Park Watching the Waves
I have long wanted to go to the Oregon Coast to watch huge swells break upon the rocks at Shore Acres State Park on the southern Oregon coast. The opportunity came this January when a historic ‘bomb cyclone’ slammed the West Coast. Waves of 19-25 feet did not disappoint. The following day 50 knots winds made hinking the exposed coast almost impossible but also resulted in fascinating spume tornados .
