Acklins Islands Bahamas

Bonefish have turned into one of my favorite fish to chase with a flyrod.  What’s not to like?  It offers the opportunity to wade brilliant sand flats in 70 degree aquamarine waters.  When found bonefish are not particularly finicky and readily take the fly.  And pound for pound they are some of the fastest fish around and can spool you if you are not paying attention.

I had the opportunity to introduce two friends this past April to the wonders of a DIY bonefish trip with a return to Acklins Islands Bahamas.  They both caught multiple bonefish and they are both ruined; ie, they are ready for a return.

I cannot say enough for our hosts for the week, Felton and Ronnie at Salina Point Bonefish Lodge on Acklins and their gracious hospitality.  I am looking forward to returning next year.
