Is this a CSF Project?
Yes and no. This idea has been in the back of my mind for over a decade. The 50th Anniversary of the Club spurred me to bring it to the Board and request their approval and permission to use the club’s logo. Upon completion, I will grant CSF copyright to the publication. I stand to make no financial or other gain from the project.
When do you need the flies
The deadline for submission is July 1, 2025.

Where is the Recipe Form?

Will my flies be returned?
Unfortunately, no. The logistics and cost of mailing dozens of flies are beyond my means. Instead, flies will be auctioned at a CSF meeting or event, with proceeds going to our Conservation fund. Your time, effort, and contributions will benefit the club’s mission.
Am I limited to the number of flies submitted?
No.
Will you publish a hard copy?
Maybe later. The immediate goal is digital publication. After the dust settles and I can estimate the demand and associated costs, a printed book may be feasible.
Will the digital publication reach non-participants?
I failed to develop a clear distribution policy. I will approach the Board for their input prior to publication. All who participate will get a copy free of charge.
What if several tiers submit the same fly?
No two flies, even of the same pattern, are exactly alike. There are dozens of Silver Hilton and Green Butt Skunk variations. All the same, but vastly different. Submit your fly. I will keep a tally of submitted patterns and append it to this FAQ.
Does it have to be a recent tie?
No. Just make sure it is in a condition suitable for photos.
Need any help?
I am looking for a collaborator capable of producing a shadowbox of submitted flies; thus the request for two flies. The shadowbox would be auctioned with the proceed going to the CSF Conservation Fund.
