Wildflower Adventure – Bridger Teton Wilderness

Previous treks to the north-central Rockies have been timed to miss the peak of mosquito season: August. Other priorities pushed this year's return to the Roaring Fork region of the northern Wind River Range to mid-July. The result: both the bugs and wildflowers were epic. The following pictures don't give the cacophony of wildflowers their due. I have never experienced the variety and sheer numbers of flowers in any other location in the Mountain West. And I had them all to myself as I saw only two other hikers in my time in the wilderness. Oh, and I caught some fish.
